Jullianne Medeiros / Spain

Jullianne Medeiros is a photographer, food stylist, and art director. Her work ranges from documentary and social photography to the visual storytelling of gastronomy and still life. She is the director of "ABOUT Magazine" and the founder of the creative retreats "With Other Eyes." Throughout her career, she has been awarded 2nd place in the Pink Lady competition in 2024 and 2nd place in 2022 in the "Food Stylist" category, solidifying her style within fine art photography. Her inspiration comes from storytelling, exploring new cultures, nature, and natural light.

EVALUATION RESULTS FOR THE FPA PROFESSIONAL FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2025

Evaluating the work of my fellow professionals was a significant challenge. 

It required me to closely examine each of the stunning photographs submitted, searching for a balance between beauty, technique, intention, passion, and that special element that evokes a sense of wonder—that “Wow!” moment. 

These were the main criteria that guided my selection of the winning photographs for the FPA Food Photography Awards 2024.

Winners of the Professional Category

The quality of the photographs submitted in this category is truly impressive, showcasing theincredible talent in today’s food photography. The diversity of styles was remarkable, makingthe selection process both challenging and enriching.

I reviewed each image dozens of times, and the factor that stood out the most in my selection was that spark of surprise—that creative touch that makes you think,

“What a great idea!” or “How well executed!”

I also took into account the naturalness or complexity involved in creating each scene, as

these elements add authenticity and depth to every work.

Winners of the Non-Professional Category 

The Non-Professional category stood out for its freshness and spontaneity. 

The submitted images showcased a blend of passion, experimentation, and uninhibited creativity, resulting in compositions full of life and authenticity. 

Some conveyed simplicity and warmth, while others impressed with bold and dynamic approaches. 

The selection process was truly inspiring, as each image reflected the enthusiasm and dedication of its creators. 

Congratulations to all the participants for showcasing the immense potential present in this category.

プロフェッショナルの皆さまの作品を審査することは、大きな挑戦でした。
応募された美しい写真の一枚一枚を細かく見つめ、美しさ、技術、意図、情熱、そして見る人を魅了する特別な要素—「Wow!」と感じさせる瞬間のバランスを探しながら評価しました。

これらの基準をもとに、FPAフードフォトグラフィーアワード2024の受賞作品を選出しました。

【プロフェッショナル部門】

このカテゴリーに応募された写真のクオリティは本当に素晴らしく、現代のフードフォトグラフィーにおける卓越した才能が感じられました。多様なスタイルが見られ、その選定作業は非常に難しくもあり、同時に刺激的なものでもありました。すべての写真を何度も見返し、最も印象に残った要素は、驚きを与える「ひらめき」でした。思わず「なんて素晴らしいアイデアだ！」あるいは「なんて見事な表現なんだ！」と感じさせるような創造的な要素が選考の決め手となりました。また、作品にリアリティと奥行きを与える要素となる、シーンを作り上げる際の作品の自然さや構成の複雑さといった点も考慮しながら審査を行いました。​​

【ノンプロフェッショナル部門】

ノンプロフェッショナル部門は、その新鮮さと自発性が際立っていました。
応募作品には、情熱、実験的なアプローチ、自由な発想が見事に融合し、生き生きとしたオリジナリティ溢れる構図が数多く見受けられました。

ある作品はシンプルで温かみのある雰囲気を伝え、またある作品は大胆でダイナミックな表現で強い印象を与えてくれました。

審査を通じて強く感じたのは、それぞれの作品に込められた作り手の熱意と努力です。
この部門には大きな可能性が秘められていることを改めて実感しました。
